Today was our older granddaughter’s fifth-birthday party at a local gym where she has been going to gymnastics sessions. This is the take-your-shoes-off area outside the room with the large “inflatables.” The kids had 30 minutes with the inflatables, 30 minutes of “guided gym play,” and 30 minutes in the birthday room with pizza and birthday cake. From an adult’s perspective, it was all well-organized and well-orchestrated. Also, parking wasn’t an issue as it would have been at a private home in a neighborhood, and clean-up was someone else’s job (embedded in the fee, of course). Our granddaughter was very gracious as the focus of the event and thoroughly enjoyed seeing her cousins, new friends from pre-school, and “old friends” from her previous daycare, whom she hadn’t seen since spring. Also, glad I put on decent socks today. :)
Note. This was one of the few photos I could post, since most shots today included other children.
