the treasure hunt continues. tonight i found one of the requested treasures: "bokeh", the 365 kind.
good thing the Christmas tree hasn't been taken down yet, as i see i still have a use for it. so after 25 shots, i finally got this blur. and i also finally learned how to pop the flash of my bridge camera (there's a button, summerfield! you gotta press it! - like who's got time to read the manual!). i'm never going to graduate to a DSLR unless i learned to use this thingamajiggs, you know.
i some of the time prefer to re-feature some of the subjects i've already taken up (tonight it's because i'm not coming up with any great ideas so...).
@cscecil - i refuse to read the manual unless i have to look at something specific. my canon's manual, after i printed and bound it, was about an inch thick and i printed it double sided. i love to read but not instruction manuals! thank you, CS.
Wow! That was a beautiful photo of the clasp and interesting story to go with it. I'm not into wearing alot of jewelry, but I love watches. Have collected a few really nice ones over the years. How about a photo wearing this choker sometime. :) P.S. We must have twin sock drawers. When I head for the sock section in a store, my friends and family cringe.
@karenann - you can see part of it in my profile photo. in fact i was wearing it today at the office. it's my feel rich pearl necklace. i wear it when i know i don't have any money. as for socks, all my socks were bought unpurposely, i.e., i'd be buying something else, i saw a package of socks on sale, i just grab it without thinking, pay for it, bring it home, use them and when clean put them in the drawers. sigh!
@karenann - p.s. - i used to have 23 wrist watches. for some reasons when i was younger and dating, i always got wrist watches as gifts from the guys i dated. either they forgot they'd already given me one, or because they seldom see me wearing a watch. when i came to canada i had 23! i just have under 10 now as i gave away some of the 'fancy' looking ones, others broke beyond repair. i just kept the sturdy ones.
Love the comment, summerfield. I must have at least ten . . funny thing is I hardly ever wear one either. I can't be bothered with looking at a clock . . I move at my own speed without regret. My watches range from Omega to Gucci to Coach. My husband enjoyed buying every single one, because I am not a "diamond sort of girl!" My wedding ring is a plain gold band. But watches . . love 'em! :)
@olivetreeann - how i did mine after some swearing at everything in sight (sheepish grin!), i set it up how i'd want the shot, set the camera on self-timer, set the flash on, turned off all the lights except the tree's, then pressed the shutter. as i wasn't really interested in this bokeh thing, i just made another shot to confirm to myself that that's how to do it and that was it! thank you, ann.
@summerfield Thanks Vikki- I might try that just for fun. Although it's a small one, I'm putting up a shot with bokeh later. It's one of those shots I just want to get out of the way! That along with shark, costume, hobby, rainbow and noise. For some reason those are low on the list of interesting for me!
