this is part of a large flower arrangement at the concierge in the lobby of our office building. a very small part. they are called 'fillers' and their role is to enhance the beauty of the larger materials, in this case some large Christmas red amaryllis and giant pine cones. but against the bokeh in the background - thousands of tiny lights around a post in the lobby - the little white flowers are a stand out.
i could've taken a much better point of view had the security guard not told me that photography in the bank's vicinity is prohibited. i pointed out that i work in the building (but not with the bank) and what is the difference between me taking a photo with my real camera and the people at the far end of the lobby taking a photo of the Christmas tree with their iPhones? so, he sent the janitor over to tell the people that no photography is allowed.
that would be their job for the whole night and until they take down the bank's holiday decorations: stop everyone from taking photos. well, i'm happy with my shot. at least they didn't ask me to erase it or i'd have gone amok! well, not really, i'd just probably challenge them to call the cops or their lawyers. which happens to be the firm where i work. :-D
Hey, Vikki! I can't applaud you as much as I want on this site! I have always thought this but never had the courage to bring it up to the big protectors whoever they might be! Its so silly! Your focus is finite here!
Love your focus and the details. I also want to know why I'm not allowed to take a picture using my camera but a picture taken using a mobile phone seems to be okay!
So you ruined the Iphone Gang's fun, huh! bwuahahahaha! It is true though. Real cameras capture more than pics. They capture attention. And distrust ensues. Oh well. This is so so so pretty! The bokeh chains are fabulous!
