sssshhhh! hop-along bob and i found a sleeping ladybug in our travels today. HAB tried to wake her up to no avail. HAB had so many questions to ask the ladybug and he got frustrated that she wouldn't wake up.
finally, after much poking and prodding, the ladybug opened her eyes a little bit. she said that she's dead tired because she did a lot of work helping the farmers rid of the pests in their crops so that we would have some decent food. "so it's true!" said HAB, "that you are a friend of humans."
then HAB barraged the poor ladybug with so many questions, like,
do you really bring good luck?
do you really like eating aphids?
do ladybugs hibernate?
"kid," said the ladybug, "you are so inquisitive. may i direct you to google.ca and find out the answers. i'm really tired right now."
but HAB continued on asking her questions, even about the lovelife of the ladybug and even had the audacity to ask her if ladybugs are lesbians because how can they reproduce if they are all ladies. well, i just don't know where that question came from. but the ladybug just ignored him and went back to sleep.
@salza - no, i didn't use my lightbox for this one. i have a white desk and a white wall and did a 5-second exposure, then did some adjustments in photoshop. thank you, sally.
I think these tales should be collected together, edited ( not toouch) by you and published. Love following their antics, concerned they may bevorruptinv you though?
Don't they know to leave sleeping ladybugs lie? My girl had wanted one of these bug lights years ago, but for some reason she did not get it. Maybe because it was way too expense. Oh well. :) Great shot and story too. :)
