@steeler - thanks, howard. we love peace! :-) @bkbinthecity - yes, it used to be Dominion Day but it got changed in 1982. you know the advantage of being a 'naturalized' canadian is you get to know the history of canada so you can pass the citizenship test. amazing how a lot of the canadians i know have no knowledge of the country's history but most know about US history.
You're so right about this subject. we learned about the history of Canada and in return for becoming naturalized canadian we had to give up our native citizenship but our children born here in Canada have automatically duel citizenship - German and Canadian. Happy Canada Day to you too.
@sunnygreenwood - thanks, anne. i bought it at the CN tower gift shop the other day when i last went to take photos. i thought i'd get it for posterity; as if the gazillion photographs i took weren't enough. hahahaha! @bruni - thank you, bruni. it was good for me because i am interested in history of all countries. i pity my then young friends because 90 percent of them didn't know what confederation was. they thought it was just a bridge! i was told a while ago that i can now also retain my philippine citizenship. but i don't believe in having dual allegiances.
@summerfield I feel the same way..I always say I'm Canadian by choice not by birth....almost the same as saying friends you can choose but relatives you're stuck with (the second saying I'm not agreeing with. family to me are very important.
@bruni - bruni, i think we were taken off the same mold. that's my belief, too, when it comes to family and friends. although there are relatives i'd wish weren't related to me. hehe.
@danig - thanks, DG. i'm here everyday, been trying to catch up. looking forward to monday but still drawing blank as to idea. i'm trouble! @rynce - thank you, rynce. are you enjoying our day off?
@summerfield actually I'm still looking for now I've been laid off due to shortage of work and for now hard to find a new job because of the students summer job.
