i never tire of sushi, i might as well be japanese. or korean.
it's been blah the last few days what with the dreary weather. so partner called and suggested we cheer up ourselves, i.e., let's have someone else do the cooking and the dishes for supper. we live around the place in toronto called the greek town although the number of greek restaurants have actually dwindled the last few years. a lot of 'fusion' restaurants have sprouted and horrors, there's a wendy's right in the middle of it all. but the best thing is that there are also quite a few sushi bars.
so it was a toss up between sushi and shish kabob. sushi won even though we just had sushi last sunday night. my favourites are sashimi and the hand rolls, the ones in the front of the photo. melt-in-your-mouth salmon is to die for. i could eat this everyday and not get tired of it.
Oh yes, move on over, gal! I'm joining you. Love most sushi . . maybe not the spicier stuff. But overall . . GREAT food. This is a feast fit for a King (or a little Prince!) Mouth-watering photo!
My favorite is Thai food- but a former classmate of mine in seminary was a gourmet sushi chef. It was the first time I had sushi and I particularly liked the eel. But the green sauce was just too spicy for me!
@karenann - thank you, karenann. so good, i assure you!
@olivetreeann - i love thai cuisine, too. it's almost the same as vietnamese cuisine. but i love sushi although i myself don't really care about the eel - the smell is quite strong. i used to not like the wasabi sauce (the green sauce) but now i'm slowly liking it, not in heaps though, but little dots just to enhance the taste of the sushi, especially if it's tuna. but one time i decided i'll eat a lot of it when i felt like coming down with a flu. scared the flu away! thanks, ann.
@myhrhelper - thank you, kathy. it is really an acquired taste.
@slang - sure. i think this year, the ontario contingent should try for a meet up. how's about it? thank you, sean harry.
