divider window

friday 2

one of the attractions for me in our apartment unit is this wall-cum-window between the living room/dining area and the kitchen. my original idea when we moved here is to put a wider counter to use as 'table' instead of our regular dining table, then get a few 'bar stools' intead of the regular chairs. but no, partner is not sold on the idea. he wants the traditional dining table that we have.

so the counter became a place where 'stuff' gets parked, temporarily of course. and when we have company for lunch or dinner, it serves as our utility counter where we place the dishes to be used next or the food to be served. also it is a perfect place to place a vase whenever i get flowers.

thank you for your views and comments. i really do appreciate them and i will continue to catch up on your albums.
Love the simplicity of this!! You are extraordinarily neat, my friend. My counter is cleared everyday and cluttered by night time. lol I think that "partner" wants a table because it's cozier AND he can look at you while eating and talking. He's a romantic, I think. Love it.

@karenann - oh, you're just thinking it! hahaha! because in reality what happens is "oh, honey, can you give me a fork, i forgot to get one" as partner sits on the table sipping his wine, the lazy so and so. and then i just let the fork fly through. he catches well fortunately. and he was horrified to see this pic: "you could've cleared the counter before you shoot! the children's toys are on there." hahaha! thank you, karenann.

well, I like your original idea -- but this works well, too! Easy to throw things to one another from one room to the other -- hahaha! Very nice!

Looks cozy. Really like the lighting. That definitely makes a kitchen area I think...great lighting.
