no, not 'that' purple haze, nor that purple rain. in fact, those do not have anything to do with this photo, other than i have had vertigo since last night, and if i make sudden moves, my whole world goes into a spin, which is nice if i wanted it to spin but a spinning world isn't my cup of tea. also, i just need a catchy title; i don't know why, but i just do.
the clematis at the allan gardens have re-bloomed and this is one of them. i left off the centre part so that all we get to see is the purplish strands.
and that, ladies and gentlemen, completes the rainbow thumbnails for the week. starting tomorrow, numbers. and i don't have a clue what i'm going to do, especially that my head is spinning like crazy. it's like i had some purple haze - not that i know anything about purple haze.
except there's a song by jimi hendrix that was popular in the 70's called purple haze. i suppose it's available on youtube, like everything else.
thank you for your views and comments; they are much appreciated. i shall catch up with your albums when the vertigo is gone.
Wow what a great focus on a clematis..all of your thumbnail pictures are fantastic..had to check..can't make up my mind which of the purple pictures I took I should post. so next week it'll be numbers. we had that theme once before I believe in 2010. as long as they don't have to be in rainbow sequence. hope your verrtigo is going away soon..I had it once and know it's not pleasant..you feel so helpless.
this vertigo is a pain in the ***. i can't do virtually anything. when i lie down, everything spins. when i walk, the walls seem to close in on me. i can only sit still and when i look at the screen i feel like i have to throw up, but nothing comes out. but i suppose it's better than the full vertigo when my legs are just like noodles and i can't focus on anything. they say this is common in post-menopausal women especially asian women. and i thought being canadian would get me exempted :-) thank you again for your comments.
This is so beautiful ... what a wonderful photo to end your series with. Love the detail and, of course, the color tones. I get vertigo too, summerfield. Very uncomfortable and can be debilitating. The meds that they gave for it do not help me. Mine comes and goes and haven't had it for some time now. Hope that you feel better soon.
@lesip - thank you, leslie. i chopped off the centre part of the clematis so there's not a lot of green in the photo and more purple/violet.
@pamfromcalgary - thank you, pam. it's easing off. if i just sit down and stare at the screen i'm okay. but sudden movement especially of my head still sends me swirling like a top. you're right, it's nasty.
@karenann - thank you, karenann. the doctor told me there's no medicine she can prescribe for this. i don't know what triggers it, but i've been having late night sleeps lately and last night, because we had a heavy and late lunch, i only had cold water and ice cream (non-dairy) with lots of raw nuts. the last time i had vertigo was coming from manila when the airplane didn't have any food for me so i went almost 18 hours without any decent food and of course no sleep. but it's easing off now.
wonderful photo, so colorful and creative. so sorry to read about the vertigo. have had it several times and it is horrible. never knew what caused it and so glad it just went away - hope you feel better quickly - you are in my thoughts.
This is a fav and your rainbow turned out lovely. I have so much happening in July I did not want to limit my options to a challenge but I'll have to try a thumbnail rainbow sometime
Beautiful capture. I once read that purple is the hardest color to capture, due to its weak signal within the spectrum of colors. Just shows how brilliant our own eyes are.
