trying my hand again at this challenge. from the random article in wikipedia, i got "autumn phillips". she is an actual person, a canadian, who is the wife of peter phillips, the son of princess anne of great britain. in 'quotationspage.com' my random quote was rita mae brown's "language exerts hidden power, like a moon on the tides."
i used three photos stacked on top of each other using ribbet's overlay function. the deep shades of blue are due to the stacking, perhaps. tomorrow, i might do another georgia o'keeffe. i've been writing and that's probably the reason my photos are so uninspired.
I started doing the comment when I looked again and saw the "face!" Yowza ... this is a winner. I still don't know how you did all of this. Really! Is some of it done "in the camera?" Or is it all done in processing? Oh what the heck ... I don't even have a camera right now to try anything, capture anything .....:( Nevertheless, this is REALLY creative. Be proud, girlfriend.
@lesip - thank you, leslie. i've been using this ribbet and picnik programs for more than a year now and yet i'm just discovering some of the cool functions it can do. some i discover on my own by tinkering with a photo and mostly, i ask the people around here. one thing i like being on 365, 99% of the people are eager to share their knowledge.
@karenann - thank you, KA. you're always so kind to me. as for the photo, you can do layering or overlay in camera. my D3100 can do it with RAW files only. i think yours can do the double exposure even if the photos were taken in fine or normal photo. when your camera's back, let's do the camera settings challenge together from challenge 1 to 13. most of it you'd know and would've done with your course. thank you, and goodnight.
@salza - thank you, sally. too bad there's no distinction as to the genre of music with this album cover challenge. i always lose out on the really funky ones. guess, i'm too old for things like album covers, i just want those that are easy on the eyes.
@jannkc - really nice for a symphony kind of music or piano music. i can't seem to make something that is more rock or chaos in style. thank you, jann.
@summerfield - I've been using Ribbet but can't seem to find the overlay function, where is it located, or do you have to be a paid up member to access more sophisticated functions? Am eager to give it a go!
@jackie8 - when you're on ribbet and editing a photo, click on your 'photo basket' below the left hand corner of the screen. if the photos you want to do overlay with is in there, all you need do is drag that photo to the current photo on the screen. if not, then you can upload by clicking on the 'upload photos'.
when you drag the second photo to the main photo on the screen, a small window will appear on one side called "photo properties". in that screen, there is a dropdown menu called "advanced blend modes". click on the drop down arrow and all the modes will show, 'overlay' is halfway down.
i hope i explained it clear enough and that you will be able to find those functions. let me know how it goes. sorry didn't see this soon enough as we were having dinner.
@jackie8 - i'm sure you'll have fun with it. i was like a child in a candy store at Christmas when i discovered it. i also got help from ann @olivetreeann as she's a master in photo processing this side of 365. the funny thing was, i just told my niece, who's a professional photographer, that everything i learned in photography, i learned from 365. the expensive courses i took in the past didn't help me at all, it's all 365! :-)
Maybe one day...

@lesip :-)
@eddyj - hey, eddy! how have you been? long time, yes. glad to have you back, my friend.
@bkbinthecity - thank you, brian.
