Spotted Flycatcher Nest by susiemc

Spotted Flycatcher Nest

I was outside the house a few minutes ago and saw a 'little brown bird' fly out from a pyracantha climbing up the side of the house. When I went to investigate I found this little nest. The structure of the nest and the small, brown speckled eggs meant I could identify it as a Spotted Flycatcher Nest. Sadly these little summer visitors are becoming increasingly rare so we feel very privileged to have them nesting in our garden. There is at least one other pair nesting here.
Great find!!!
