The Broad Bodied Chaser ( Libellula depressa )

This was not taken in our garden (unfortunately). We went to Hergest Croft Gardens today, just 15 minutes from where we live. This dragonfly was in the kitchen garden. I've never actually seen one before so I had to get my dragonfly book out to see what it was. It's actually a female. The male is blue and I have seen one of those before but I didn't realise it was the same species.
beautiful Lady Dragon.
