I've seen guillemots many times but always in the breeding season when they're wearing their very best outfits. It took a lot of research to realise that this is in fact a guillemot. It looks very different. The photo was taken at Whitby.
Oh, I love this shot, Sue! The smooth rippled texture of the water is the perfect setting for this grey-white guillemot (a new one for me, in any season). Sublime! (and a fav!)
