This was what I'd started out to try to shoot, but didn't find it to be as interesting as I'd hoped. That led to the processing activity in the collage in my main album ( http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-04-08).
I think the two shots are great and can't really be compared to choose a favourite. I just like how you have gotten this technically and visually right :)

You've made a good point -- it is comparing apples and oranges as the photos attempt to do such different things. I realize how mired I can get in the detail of a shot on a single day and not step back to think about the bigger picture of what they are about/doing.
