The United Center (upper left) is Chicago's home to the Chicago Blackhawks (hockey) and Chicago Bulls (basketball) as well as major events like tonight's Eagles concert. It was...awesome!! Admittedly, a (ahem) somewhat older audience than many other rock groups draw, but it was a fantastic evening. Prior to leaving:
Jim: Let's go to dinner on the way.
Taffy: Okay. Mmm...what do you think of taking my DSLR?
Jim: Not a good idea. You can always use your iPhone
[we leave to walk to restaurant on way to United Center. Sky is spectacular. City reflections have NEVER been so amazing. iPhone does not capture it at all]
Jim: (several hours later after concert as he viewed the collage). Too bad you didn't take your good camera. Photos would have come out clearer than with the iPhone, wouldn't they?
It's now 1:00 a.m. and I must get to sleep! I am slowly catching up in viewing but still behind. Thank you for your wonderful response to my nightscape and for your ideas using my new crystal ball photo toy.
LOL, you should listen to your inner-self especially since it was the Eagles one of my favourite bands from the past. I must say your iPhone shots turned out pretty good and this is such a wonderful collage that captures your evening out. Great composition. Oh by the way "Go Leafs Go!!!"
Wonderful collage of beautiful pictures, Taffy. I am always sorry when I first think of taking my camera and suddenly decide not to do so. I always lose a photographic opportunity.
I would have to agree with you on that one! I went and saw the Eagles for their Hell Freezes Over Tour in '95; I was 7 months pregnant but I didn't think I'd ever get the chance again! I had no idea they were back in town. Awesome collage!
@cathrinemitch Ah Catherine....Leafs? Oh well... I still love your photos!! thanks for the kind comments on the collage. I had to do it since I wanted to capture the night, but none of the shots worked as a single. But I learned an important lesson! There's a reason for the mantra about always carrying our camera!
@kwind Kim, it was great! I love their music and it was fun to see them in person. I can't believe after all these decades their voices are so strong and they have such stamina to keep us entertained for 3 hours. And they built from their early to their current music -- they're really good showmen.
Very cool collahe ! The eagles are in in Michigan at the palace of auburn hills . that is where the Detroit Pistons play! Not going bit I am sure it will be an awesome concert!
Love the collage - overwhelming for me to think of the endless entertainment options every night in Chicago. You conversion made me smile - I just with the DLSR want so big and heavy:-)
@cmsfk70 I'm guessing it might be at Rosemont rather than downtown since so many of the sports stuff would have started by then. But they announced it at the concert.
@susale Thanks Suse -- it was fun and I supposed a good challenge in a way to make something work from less than quality photos. I wish I would have had my DSLR, but at least it was a lesson learned! And I still have a record of the night.
