On Top of the World

Hi again! Thank you for all your wonderful welcomes! Thanks Arefin for telling us what the box is for! And to learn other Danbos will be visiting 365 is really cool. This afternoon was beautiful and I just kept asking and asking Taffy to take me outside. I wanted Hippo to come but she said he was too delicate, whatever that means. So she and I went alone to the rooftop. WOW. It was so cool up there. I'm pointing to my favorite building. It was the biggest one of all. Tall and strong, like me.
Taffy said our photo shoot let her "play with DOF" if anyone was wondering. I think it means that I am the only thing that is really clear and she did that on purpose. I'm learning about photography now. Her main album shot is of the Blue Line train. I'm more interesting! http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-09-29

wonderful to get out of the house taffy with danbos .. if hippo doesn't want to go with you let him stay because he is too delicate .. ( what ever that means ) lol

Love you Danbo, you stand out so well against all this dof business, and do keep pestering Taffy, (let me let you in on a secret) cause her stories make me smile...

fun, fun, fun and fabulous. I think I officially have ダンボウル envy. (That's how you write Danbo(ru) in Japanese.)

Ah, so is this forced perspective by any chance? :)
October 6th, 2013
@darylo Forced perspective is fun! This one is not really because it is clear that the buildings are behind Danbo, and that there's not really any suggestion that he's as tall as them. So, maybe with a stretch, but not really a good one. What I think it requires is that something has to look like it literally is a disproportionate size and that it is an integral part of the image. @colie did some great ones but I don't know if she tagged them. Here are some links -- it's easier to learn by example, I think, than by definition: http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/force-perspective-photos/ http://www.buzzfeed.com/expresident/25-creative-examples-of-forced-perspective http://www.instantshift.com/2010/08/24/88-brilliant-examples-of-forced-perspective-photography/

@taffy Oh, that one with a 'side of bokeh' -- wow!
October 6th, 2013
@darylo Yep -- that's one of the best I've seen! Did you notice in that one, it looks literally like the chopstick is holding the bokeh? It's seamless. That's why Danbo isn't it, I think. Or the one I did of the seagull looking down on the Bay Bridge a few weeks ago. They aren't integrally part of the image, even though the size is disproportionate. I can't wait to see what you do!
