The snow kept coming, and now the arctic temperatures are coming in. Reminds me why winter is best enjoyed indoors in front of a fire or curled up watching Downton Abbey!
This same view looked quite different in the fall, if interested: http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-11-12
Wow so different to the fall image. The natural black and white with that red bunting is beautiful.
While we don't have snow it has been cold and windy. I wish we had a little white stuff, you will laugh at this - snow or ice shut down this city!
@sianipops Snow doesn't shut us down normally, but you know it's really bad right now with the arctic temperatures -- we just got an email from the university president telling us to work from home if we are 'non-essential' at the school. That NEVER happens.
@taffy whoohoo if you are non-essential! I have heard it's really bad, it is definitely wide spread for us to be feeling the effects of it down in Texas at the same time as you not later when it moves on from the north. Batten down the hatches!
Beautifully composed! I love seeing the same spot through different seasons. Looks cold there. We flew home yesterday from Cali and a bunch of flights got cancelled because of east coast weather. (Planes getting stuck there) Unfortunately ours was not one of them:( brrrrr
Beautiful! Mother Nature is sure having a temper tantrum this winter! Having survived an ice storm, heavy snows, deep freezes, it's now raining, temps are above freezing. All that snow and ice are melting quickly, leaving the roads looking more like rivers. Worst thing is - temps are expected to drop about twenty degrees by this afternoon. A good day to stay home!
Wonderful shot - love the pop of red!! I hope you will be working from home - it must be awful to go out in such low temperatures!! You have the snow and extreme cold and we are having the wind and rain and floods!!
Love the white and red together. Any idea when Downton is going to have new episodes? I keep recording on the off chance it will be new but all reruns so far.
@rill The fourth season started last night -- a 2 hour special to kick it off. I'm guessing you can watch it on pbs.org website so you're caught up for next week. It's still on Sunday nights at 8:00 CST.
@taffy Thanks so much! I checked and I don't get it until this coming Sunday, which means I haven't missed it :) :) :) Thanks so much for the heads up!
@rill Oh good--I'm glad you didn't miss the start! I thought it was a reasonably good start to the season -- but t hen, I'm a total fan even knowing its faults!
