This is from yesterday's trip to the zoo. Processed today using Aperture b&w with brush-away for selective color. The lion pictured here was in the indoor section of his quarters, along with his mate. Both were lying at the front of their cages, watching the visitors as we hung out -- late afternoon on a wintry day, there were very few of us.
Thank you for your wonderful comments and thoughts about my gorilla shot yesterday and six word story to go with it. The zoo is doing some excellent conservation work and the exhibit consisted of about 3 or 4 'mom' gorillas and their babies.
As I work through the photos from yesterday, I'm beginning to appreciate the low-light zoom the lens provides. I wish it were lighter, though, but I can't complain about the quality of the glass. Mmmm...sell or keep??

@maggiemae@danielwsc Weird -- on the site, the tongue is a strange purple, but on my computer file, it's a lovely bright pink! Daniel, any thoughts on how to use picmonkey to fix that??? THanks for pointing it out.

Thank you for visiting and such kind comments. I'm glad you liked the SC choice -- something I've learned fairly recently so it's been fun looking out for places to practice it.
I'd say "pawdecure" ;-) As for whether to sell or keep your lens, only you can decide. I traded in my 100-400mm because of its weight. In its place, I bought a 70-200. Much more portable. I can always rent a longer lens for those rare trips to the zoo. Is there a lens that you covet?
The selective coloring works great here! It's funny how we will have things lying around for ages, then decide to get rid of them and all of a sudden find them useful again!
