Grinning with Pride by taffy

Grinning with Pride

My get-pushed-94 challenge, second entry, from graduation, to meet the challenge from @swilde Sue Wilde to do some portraiture. My colleagues were quite gracious as we waited in the hot covered parking lot in full robes for 45 minutes to walk in for the ceremonies. This is our Associate Dean for Research -- I think she looks to young to have that position! She is a good sport and is also the 'unsuspecting victim' in the noir photo a few months ago - http://365project.org/taffy/365/2014-01-07.
@swilde Here's #2 for get pushed. Hope you like these. It was a fun challenge.

Awesome portrait.

I really like how it appears that she just turned her head while smiling and you happened to capture the moment perfectly. Really nice!

@eyeamlisa I'm so glad to read your comment as that's the feeling I was going for. In reality, I kept moving her around in front of these huge fans trying to get her hair to move a bit under the hat, and then moved her around because of weird lighting -- good thing we were all so bored waiting!!

Well, it was a success then! Boredom can translate into some amazing things! Well done! :-)

This is so lovely. Your colleagues should be very happy with their shots. Challenge well met.

Very beautiful portrait. Ceremonies can involve a bit of waiting around. It's great that you had something to do.

Soft tones, nice eyes, shallow DOF, good choice on the B&W. An image you both can be proud of.

A great graduation portrait!

I like the hair and the tassel complementing each other. The beaming smile is what's to die for, though.

A wonderful portrait. Really shows the emotion.

Fabulous answer to your challenge.

Lovely soft portrait. The sharp light at the back could have been distracting, but your use of slight over-exposure has balanced it well.
