Wow. What a great capture. I like the repetition of the shapes in the center from front to back. I'd like to see a little more detail in the darkest shadow areas.
@jborrases Thanks! But, I didn't really stitch them, more 'stacked' if that is the right word for using HDR. It was an amazing cathedral with so many different areas and rooms.
@cazla I don't mind at all...and I'm not sure 'stacking' is even the right word. I use an Aperture setting and set my camera to bracket the shot using three continuous shutter clicks. One is the actual setting, then one comes out 1 shutter stop above and 1 shutter stop below (you don't want to have the aperture change as it messes up DoF). And I shoot in RAW. Then, I use Photomatix to combine the data from the three shots into one. Once I have that combined photo, with all the data from the three photos, I use the sliders from various presets to get the tones and lighting that I had in mind when I took the shot. It sounds more complicated than it is...there are three things I had to learn: (A) how to bracket on my camera, (B) how to use Photomatix, which is not that hard, and (C) how to fine-tune with sliders in Photomatix (which is still something I'm learning. I sometimes do little tweaks in Aperture or in Color Efex. So, a longer answer to your question than you may have wanted, but I didn't want to mislead in having you think it was only using Photomatix. Let me know if you have other questions about it -- I don't know it well, but am still learning so am happy to share what I've figured out so far.
