This mill-race is a relic of Paimpont's industrial past and is located in the heart of the small village known as Les Forges. For nearly 400 years, the mill pond fed this steeply sloping mill-race where water wheels provided power for the stamps and other forge machinery at the ironworks.
The mill-race continued to run white with churning water long after all industrial activity in the area ceased and did so until 3 years ago when the owner of the site diverted the inflow and allowed the mill-pond to dry up. I miss the chatter of the water on my frequent visits.
Edit: I wasn't happy with my first try at processing this in B&W as the shot was fuzzy and lacked definition; a second try produced much better results... unfortunately, I posted the first version in error ;-(
