This is the church of St. Etienne in Chinon, Indre et Loire: there was a church on this site from the beginning of the 11C but the present building was completed in 1480.
I wanted to include this for my challenge today because it was a bit of a juggle getting a balanced exposure where detail was retained in the interior features but the stained glass windows weren't (too) blown out.
This was taken handheld at ISO 3200 - rewards viewing on black.
Very beautiful, 50mm and no processing great shot. I must confess that I tweaked my past photo a little bit for I thought just no cropping so today's photo will be straight from camera; either jpg or raw.
Love the aisle leading to the stained glass. Looks beautiful on the black, very cool lighting. Sounds like lighting was an issue that you conquered so well!
