On the camera walk about yesterday I snapped four strangers, Sarah was my first. She was working in St Olav's Bookshop , a place I've walked passed hundreds of times, but never entered.
Sarah told me a bit about the shop's history, it is a consecrated church which holds regular services, and was very happy to pose for a a portrait for me after I'd explained a bit about my project.
She's worked in the shop for 11 years and then told me she is a practicing priest. A lovely, happy lady I could have chatted with for a bit longer, but the rest of the group waiting outside were getting impatient (they don't seem to talk to their candid portrait victims, they just snap and walk off!)
Sarah looks such a ' happy in who she is" lady..
thank you, I always chat before I ask about taking their picture, and this lady was very interested in me too (a bit disconcerting!!)
