Fireworks by 30pics4jackiesdiamond

Fireworks

Fireworks at the sailing club and a friend and I set up our tripods and fired away. I took 105 and got only these 7 half-decent ones.
Fireworks are tricky to capture - you did a great job with these!

These are nice Jackie - but - I know this is mad - but the little point and shoot camera I use has a fireworks setting which does amazing things - with no skill from me. I had no idea what I was doing and just kept clicking madly all over the sky - the results were incredible. Weird hey - but if you have a point and shoot you might like to give it a go next time? Cheers Rob

I am the same as Rob. Unless they are the sort that display on the ground close by, I use my little handbag camera - the Olympus compact on its fireworks setting. It seems to do a way better job of it. When I look at the exifs, it has a longer shutter speed than I would have selected. I like the top and bottom left ones especially here.

@casablanca @robz I know!! Who needs a posh DSLR?? But my point and click doesn't have that setting, but I should give it a go as it's such a clever bit of kit! Thank you.
@Dawn it was fun playing and experimenting and learning more about camera
@selkie thank you, only a little amateur show so fireworks not truly skyfillingly spectacular
Thank you ladies

You did well to get these. I've seen some amazing fireworks shots, but my track record with them is pretty dismal.
