Kali asked me to try out some image finishing effects in my camera that I didn't even know I had! This effect is Bleach Bypass and I hoped it would give this effect and be a bit like JoeyM posts. (Of course I didn't do any research prior to choosing the setting!)
I also had my ND 8 filter on, as it was so bright and sunny at the beach and both he and I were shooting into the sun.
This is nearly SOOC, it's been cropped, straightened and I moved that gull to be in front of him. OK, only the exposure is SOOC and it is a tad green - possibly due to ND filter??
@kali66 Hi Kali, this was fun. I drove a ways to the beach and played with the Image Finishing Tones settings in the right column of your list. Muted and flat hardly had any effect, reversal film was ugly, and cross processing interesting, I think more colours need to be in shot for it to be effective.
I didn't know I could set my camera to monochrome- so thank you for getting me to find that out!!
Bleach Bypass was the most fun to try and get the exposure right, I only got half a dozen decent exposures of people moving and looking abstract.
THANK YOU for another brilliant challenge, I've learnt more about my camera, using the ND filters with my tripod thingy whatsit. And I had fun at the beach in the sun for an hour!
@brennieb I've looked more and I can make this even brighter!! @randystreat that was my aim- so big thanks @taffy i was pleased @anniesue long exposure, wide apperture, moving people- helped by setting on camera @kjarn Joey does it on his phone @will_wooderson thank you @haskar many thanks @joemuli a friend has that app, i don't use my phone except for quick snaps- perhaps I should start? @grammyn thank you so much for noticing @christinav many thanks @jacqbb so glad it worked @fbailey just a bloke with a camera getting light on the waves and gulls- he came over to compare cameras! @wakelys so many new buttons to play with!! @joansmor thank you
@kali66 thank you again Kali, your challenges always cause me to learn new stuff that I'll use again.
