In thinking of what to photograph today, I thought to get out an old album and throw some textures and colors on an Easter picture from yesteryear... I was surprised when I pulled this out to see it was a Polaroid, my mother's favorite camera at the time. My computer is not presently hooked up to the scanner, so I took a photo of this and it struck me...
"Old Polaroid"...that's one of those apps we use to give vintage age to a picture...and this has it all, just as is... Now to pick one and put the rest of my family in the Vintage Spotlight :) ( http://365project.org/Weezilou/album-excess/2015-04-03 )
@kelly2@jocee ♥ (thanks) @aglennc Thank you all! I had an entirely different idea in mind when I opened the album, but my three today will do nicely, thank you!
Oh, my God, you are so, SO adorable!! And, blonde.....who would have known?!! What a trip down memory lane! And, that is exactly why we take pictures.....to capture that moment in time and remember it vividly, even when memory fades!
@panthora yep...I loved reliving the photo memories in the album I seldom look through anymore! (It's one of 40 on a tall shelf in my closet! Good thing we've gone digital!) And blonde...that was the ONLY time in my life I changed the color of my hair, and it was only for about 3 months...probably the thinnest I'd ever been, too... Oh to have arms and legs like that again!
You know Louise, as we mature, it is fun to look back, and it doesn't seem near as long ago as it really is. It seems more like yesterday. A great photo!
@digitalrn Oh true true, Rick! I recall that when my dad turned "50" I wrote him a poem about being a half century old! That seemed ancient to me at the time! Now...(shudder) this photo of me in my teens...egad, no...21!... is nearly 50 years old! How convoluted "Time" is and oh the tricks it plays! Happy Easter, m'friend!
Is this you Louise. Lovely young woman. I loved Polaroid also...so fun to see the photo right away. Now look how far we have come!! Fun vintage shot and love they way you have presented it.
What can I saw but, "THAT was unexpected!" Thank you all! I never go into this thinking about "trending..." or "popular..." so I'm quite surprised when it happens, and it's not always the one I think you'd like. I can only share that now, I realize how much of that inner girl is still with me, but the shell has changed significantly. (I now would be "the blind date" of whom one would say, "She has a nice personality...") You're all very sweet... Happy Easter and I hope you'e enjoying your weekend!
@Weezilou - I thought it might be you but was hesitant to say something and find out I was wrong. Louise, we all change on the outside we have no control over that. We do have control over the person we are on the inside. I have a strong feeling that your are one of those people who hasn't allowed the ups and downs of life to change this young lady except for the better! Happy Easter!
@skipt07 What a thoughtful comment and a very kind one, Skip. I've had my battle scars, but if we accept that as honing and polishing, we know we're not alone in this world; it happens to everyone. I've had a fortunate life in that I'm content with what comes my way and for that I've grown happier every year. Hoping it's the same for you and your, Skip... Happy Easter to you, too :)
@kevin365 For once I'm a bit speechless...thank you! "The Inner Child" has been entertaining herself today with Easter baskets and photo fun... Stop by when you're free after tomorrow for my Easter card...silly fun...
@stray_shooter Well, "thank you"... that may be the last time in my lifetime I'll hear someone say that! (Who was that girl? It's certainly been a long time!) We're set for Sunday...
