Mahone Bay ... Low Tide before a Full Moon by Weezilou

Mahone Bay ... Low Tide before a Full Moon

Here on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, this landmark with the 5 steeples in Mahone Bay is unquestionably the most-photographed in this town! Whenever we're through there, I look for a new way of seeing it, and on this day, the retreating water and the clouds gave me a new perspective.

I haven't even gone through all the photo activities of the weekend...just picking through them like that proverbial "box of chocolates"! I have *so much* I'd love to share...but *So Much* also translates to *Little Spare Time*...

Come up here and see for yourself someday!
A great view on and a beautiful capture of this lovely place . Great river and nice churches. When I visit the U.S.A. I always was surprise by the many churches. Back home I tell , I`ve seen one by every four houses . Fav.

@pyrrhula Thanks, Ferry! Yes, in this tiny town, there are these you see and a couple more! Every little community has them up here!

Just scrolling through and you did it to me again. Even before I finished my scroll I knew where it was and who posted it. Louise this is one of the best photos of the Churches of Mahone Bay that I have ever seen. I just love your reflections. Such a sweet little town!

@digitalrn That's actually five...a short steeple behind the yellow, Anglican church, and one on the far right is (Norman?) I'm trying to recall my architecture...

@pyrrhula @overalvandaan @judithdeacon @stownsend Thank you all so much for liking this! Suzie, you've spent time there, so thank you for the high praise! I've photographed this spot often, but this was the first time I felt all the steeples were clearly visible, so thanks again!

The sky & the bay really complement each other in this moody shot.

@Weezilou Yes I see it now, helps to enlarge it with these older eyes LOL

Love the POV from across the water Louise and the reflections in the water. Reading the comments made me smile. A friend of mine commented that the most interesting thing about the Irish village I came from was the sheer number of churches and pubs. Almost equal number of each! Fav

that must be church street in the background.

@chard haha...you'd think! Funny though...I don't think there IS a "Church St" in town!

I forgot for an instant that we had someone here photographing this area beside me :) At a quick glance I thought "wow, that looks just like Mahone Bay!" Haha, great capture.

@Weezilou Kerkstraat = Church street. That`s a very common name in Holland for a street. Nearly every town have one.
