In the pool at the entrance to the botanical pavilion, I was delighted to find an egret that lingered there all the while we were taking photos. As he suddenly plunged into the water, it was clear that he was culling the new crop of baby koi! (I'd never seen so many babies!) I'm beginning to think he won't be leaving this site for awhile...

Oh, it looks like you were in San Diego while we were away back east! We should really try to coordinate our schedules one of these days.....really looking forward to seeing you again, and to meeting Ron @stray_shooter soon! We just all need to find ourselves at the same places at the same time!
