OMG, where were you, Costco?!! I refuse, refuse to look at Christmas decorations yet....shouldn't there be some goblins and skeletons there first?! I told Roger that if he so much thinks about getting a Christmas tree for us this year I will kill him!! His heart is in the right place making sure his Shiksa wife has her tree for the holidays, but I end up doing all the work, and this year we are coming back at the beginning of the holiday season, which is our busy time! Maybe I will just hang out at Costco to enjoy the season!!
@panthora Sam's... But two can play at this game and you know they do! You and Roger should go straight to Paris from your Safari and enjoy Christmas there!!! No clean up afterward! Last year I conned 4-y-o into decorating our tree! I praised him so much I'm sure he can hardly wait to do it again! It's not an easy holiday, but it's all about children. In your case, I do think it a grand idea "to just keep going!" We traveled with the neighbors, Billy & David one year over Christmas (and we *were* in Paris) and we took a cruise over Christmas one year...loved it! All the festivities, none of the work!
Too bad we live in Southern California. I'm betting that, amongst those oversized decorations would be a fake fireplace with glowing embers if you were shopping in a colder climate! All you need to bring are robe & slippers...
good grief!!! we have a bit of Halloween stuff around (not quite so big a deal over here) but you can bet the Christmas stuff is all ready to be unpacked. I shall rebel.
Noooooooo! I feel totally beat up by 'commercialism Christmas' by the time the holidays arrive. Ugh! It's no wonder Christmas trees are on the curb on December 26 and the remaining eleven of the twelve days of Christmas (until Jan 6) are totally disregarded. I could start a rant about advertising and retail...but I won't.
Love your photo title. ☺
@salza What?! You have no "Christmas Stores" down there? We have some scattered ones that I can think of, but they tend to be in tourist communities...we even have one in Lunenburg! (They can be forgiven... *This*, not so much!)
@Weezilou no we don't have dedicated shops. The stores usually allocate a portion of an aisle to the decorations from about October and then from a day or two after Christmas they are all gone again.
