While I love Southern California, the populace is so densely packed, it's never easy to go anywhere without a lot of planning. I put a tiny red dot (maybe too tiny) at the Huntington Beach Pier were we 365 members met up in late June. Compare this planescape view to the July day we arrived in Nova Scotia http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2015-07-03 . Life up here doesn't run at a slower pace, but it *looks* more tranquil!
(sorry...that dot IS too small...but it's the only pier on the coastline if you care to get out your magnifying glass for a closer look ; )
That;s very dense! The valley where I live is probably only a quarter or so of this.

@salza@aglennc Thanks, Sally! I just spotted that myself! And like you, Sally, all of Lunenburg would probably fit into one of those mile-square grids!
@kwind Sitting in our back yard there, there's no sense of being in "a big city". But try to fight the traffic to go anywhere...we're ready to leave that to others as much as possible! (which is why, when home, so many photos are from our yard! NS suits me so much better!)
I`m with KWind . Although I`m born in one and know a big city is only a collection of many small villages. Most of the people do not know about the other parts. I feel always lonely in a crowd and the many big buildings scared me. Same time I`m fascinated by it. So you pic. fascinate me, great shot.
@aglennc We drove to Dana Point and back today for lunch and a visit with a good friend. Traffic was miserable for parts of both ways.... And this was mid day, Saturday! Aurgh!!!
