Andie @ukandie led us on a wonderful nature walk alongside Lincoln Park before heading to the beach where we'd be perfectly situated to photograph the iconic buildings alongside Lake Shore Drive. We arrived at 7 to capture the setting sun, and I took my last image of the night lights at nearly 9.
I'm grateful I took sunset photos and "people pictures" as my night shots were nothing to write home about! Amazingly, it was windy enough that it created camera movement. When I figured that out, we returned a few days later and tried it once again...with success!
** Denise Wood @gilbertwood left the following in her comment below. It decidedly needed to be seen by everyone who takes the time to read captions!

I just happened to notice that a few of the ladies have their camera straps attached. If it is windy and the strap is hanging what will add a lot of wind resistance and cause CM especially with the center column extended. My daughter bought me a strap that connects to one of the strap mounts on the camera and is easily disconnected for situations such as this. Great composition of this meetup!
Lovely colours,Louise! How lovely it was to watch the sun go down and then watch the lights of the city come alive! I love this candid shot! You have such a good eye! Fav!
@peterday Glad you noticed that! WHen we'd we out sightseeing, the UK gals wore jackets of hot pink, turquoise, purple and one had an orange backpack over her white jacket! It made for some wonderful photos!
@pamknowler Thanks, Pam! I've always enjoyed the people-pictures, and I thought this said so much about that evening together, though with nothing more than some of our group. I'm delighted you like it!
@skipt07 Excellent input Skip! I'd rather have bought that strap than to have spent $18 *just to park* when we returned to try the night photo shoot again!
That is a great "Behind the Scenes" shot of our outing ;) Thanks for sharing. I still think back of that day and I am happy to have met all of you! I would love to get a copy for my blog! I am going to write a post about it soon and of course I would state your name etc. Let me know if that would work for you.
@synke Synke, you may have any of my photos you'd like! You are the most delightful and lovely person; it was such a pleasure to meet you! Of course I have the photos I also took of you that I want to get to you. I'll send them off asap so you can blog in a timely fashion. As you can see, I'm a full 4 weeks behind in posting! I want to do it sequentially so Chicago doesn't get buried in my newest, most recent photos! What a great time it was! ♥
Thank you so much Louise! No worries, I was constantly traveling, too. Just taking some time today to upload a photo here from your outing ;) I will need at least another 2 weeks until I work on that blog post. So no worries ;)
Terrific capture of your outing! Now I just have to add a special saying I saw awhile ago but haven't got a photo to go with it - but this is perfect :) fav

@gilbertwood OMG that's SO perfectly stated! I'd like to add it to my caption as it will be seen by more people! It's so funny that I (truly!) always flinch inside when I say, I'm going out to shoot such-and-such! Brilliant words! Thanks!
