Parent's Weekend, here where our son-in-law John is a faculty member, got underway tonight with the first staging of the student musical. It was a delightful satire with hummable tunes. It's "narrated" by a man in the present day, remembering the heyday of the musicals of the 20's and 30's with their many predictable elements. Those students were amazing, and they included some marvelous singers.
Time passes by so fast... They may have gotten a start in childhood playing Goldilocks or a Big Bad Wolf!
This play was our Granddaughters first exposure to live theatre - she loved it! And still has a love for musicals - in fact, she takes part in a summer musical where she lives every year. The whole family dives up to support her.
Great shots of the diverent sceneries. Looks it was a great show and a pleasure to watch it.
Thanks for you so nice comment. T ( The gravel path is ordinary clay needed for the farmer to get his exipment to the flowers.)
Love this. Always a fan of plays like this. We often attend the student productions of San Diego's Grossmont Community College's Theater Arts Department.
@pamknowler Oh Pam, aren't musicals a joy?! Little wonder you're still singing last night's songs as I do believe MFL was the longest running Broadway musical...it's certainly well-loved! I went to the musical again last night (for the third time) and I'm humming the songs, too! The orchestra and choral groups are singing this morning, and now I can hardly wait for that! Super-favourite event! Aren't we blessed to be surrounded by the music-makers in this world?!
Sounds like a fun performance. Thank you for your lovely postcard, he is a very handsome rooster. We've been away for nearly seven weeks and our mail was redirected to our son's place. He dropped it off this evening. It was great to find postcards from around the world, mixed in with more mundane mail.
