Buttercup is making friends and is very settled in.
She has scowling eyes, but they belay her big heart. She's a sweetheart of a kitty and I'm so glad we could rescue her and bring her to California with us!
Gorgeous colouring. Love the word calico - always used to wonder what a calico cat was when I was younger. That's because we used to call them tortoiseshells. But apparently, though you never really hear the word calico for cats in the UK, there is a difference (calicos having a spot of white). Tortoiseshells and calicos are almost always female you might know.
@boxplayer 100% right on all counts! (I didn't catch the Calico reference earlier! THIS is a calico https://365project.org/pamgleason/365/2018-01-25) Buttercup is a Tortie and we've had several...yes, always female...I read once of a male tortie and it made the news! (We're taking Buttercup to the vet in the morning; she has a skin condition and we get her cortisone shots to help her stop scratching so much. She's not a beauty, but she's adorable and well worth any effort we can put into her!) Thanks for the time you took to leave a comment!
