That would be due to the fact that it was completely overcast and snowing all day long. It started snowing around 5:00 am and it did not stop until late this evening.
To help put things in perspective, all the snow you had seen in my shots from last week had melted due to some very nice weather over the weekend. All of the snow that you see in this picture came down today.
If you look to the far right you can see the handle of a snowshovel. The shovel stands at 5ft. tall so that helps understand how much snow came down. The big pile is the result of my having to shovel the driveway at work three times today
So this was supposed to be my cloud shot today this will have to do as that is what the sky looked like all day
If we get the inch that they are calling for on Monday, I will not complain. {currently in Quincy, WA}
Saw 14 inches dump in Colorado the Monday before Thanksgiving, what slowed everyone down was the thawing and freezing that turn everything into ice. I was told it took eight hours to get from Greeley to the Denver airport, to GET there...
I think you're supposed to photograph the clouds in the sky Brian not on the ground! :0). Wow that is a lot of snow, you and Melody stay safe and warm too.
Our sky is like that now Brian....but we have had freezing rain first, the snow is coming (they say 15-20cm for Lethbridge)! Looks like you had quite a work out with that shoveling!)
Same thing for me- minus the snow. Cloudy overcast day- no pretty clouds. After weathering Sandy for a week, I'm glad we didn't get the snow. But you folks certainly took care of our share.
The photo still fits...the sky is completely covered in clouds. Not looking forward to the snow like that yet. I know how it feels to shcvel 3 times a day.
Nice shot and what a lot of snow. What can you do when the sky looks like this, with no clouds. You did great. Stay warm as it looks so very cold there.
Yikes! I got chills up and down my spine when I opened this pic. Brrrrr! Doesn't look like fun to this California girl.
Maybe you could strap a snow blade on that nifty little forklift? ;-)
:D
