S and L about to tuck in, S channeling the spirit of Cruella. Thanks for the lovely comments on the pic yesterday. For the avoidance of any confusion, I wasn't the rather stunning Ms de Vil, that was the impressive achievement of our hostess Anna.
Having come back in from watching the fireworks last night, the others pushed the table back, got the disco ball out and had a boogie in the kitchen. Dave and I though got tempted by Anna's Blu-ray of The Lost King and watched that. Very watchable.
So late to bed and I didn't get the lie-in I wanted - because I knew I had to swap the on-call staff member over at 8.30, I was bolt awake at 7 and got no more z's.
Lazy brunch as is normal and a touch of fresh air - slightly colder and some bright spells, nice after yesterday's wet, gloomy day. Some walked to Wollaton Park, but I stayed local and walked up through the golf course and round back - discovering the over-moneyed bit of Beeston - lots of houses obviously designed by architects and a gated avenue - home to many footballers apparently.
Relaxing afternoon and evening followed - cup of tea with Articulate, espresso martinis (just plain dry martini for me) opening presents, big leftover smorgasbord supper and Paddington 2 - always a treat.
