So MANY of us are so accustomed to being BEHIND the lens that we rarely get a chance to be in front of it! I know that without my "selfies" nobody would even know what I look like!
This thread is dedicated to photographs of photographers. Not "selfies" but pictures of photographers doing what they do. It can be a photo of you, but it needs to have been taken by someone taking your picture!
Like this guy I met tonight. His name is Gary Miller, and as is my SOP (standard operating procedure for those not used to military jargon), I approached him afterward and offered to email him this photo. Turns out, he has VERY few photos of himself and he might be looking for just this sort of thing for his new website.
It sure is nice to belong to such a close-knit community! Sure we can be a little cutthroat sometimes, but when it comes down to it, I am confident we have each other's backs when push comes to shove! :)
@orangecrush Excellent shot and great story! I was crawling around on the ground at the lake today trying different angles... who knows, maybe I am featured on someone else's camera now! LOL
@sianipops Haha, I have actually seen that in a lot of "Leaning Tower of Pisa" shots, which are pretty funny; a field of people randomly trying to keep the tower from falling! :)
these are cools kinds of photos... here's one i took of a colleague from work... we were both at a conference for work and we were both taking photos...
my friend took this photo while i was busy shooting at the scenery. we were on vacation in manila and we went to another friend's private resort and the views were just spectacular i forgot i was with friends.
in july last year, i was taking street shots and didn't know this guy was crouched on the sidewalk. i didn't even know he was on my photos until i downloaded by pictures.
i've seen him again last winter and he's graduated to a full muscled dSLR!
This is my favourite one. I didn't get a chance to talk to him as I got distracted with another shot and he was gone when I looked around. I'm getting a large print of it framed right now:
One from earlier in my project of my uncle who came out shooting with me:
And one last one from Barcelona. This guy made me laugh:
@dhostick You reminded me of this one of Sophie from just over a year ago. She has discovered that she likes my camera better so she doesn't take very many photo anymore. :-(
Not exactly "In Front of the lens" but I think it counts. This woman was sitting in from of mme at my grand daughter's 8th grade awards ceremony. It was fun to watch what she was snapping with her camera.
My current facebook photo is one a friend's 6 year old took of me taking a photo of her (she had my SLR at the time & decided afterwards she preferred the b/w. Her mum, though, helped with the cropping / and straightening]).
This is my niece Erin @erinhenry when she was taking a shot at a Dear Photo that we did in the fall. We held up a photo of mom and us kids at Easter in that yard of our old house in front of the "old house" today.
another one i happened to take this week... (as an aside, i'm really hoping that no one was behind me with a camera earlier today when i was squatting down on the sidewalk in my business suit skirt trying to take a picture looking up... it would NOT have been pretty ;p)
great idea.. this is a picture of a photographer friend of mine..shooting sunrise pictures on a photography expedition.. i took this picture.
I love seeing an artist at work!
assum photoger shot@grizzlysghost Cool idea :)
@38mm LOL I was down like that on the sand a while back... hoping that NO ONE behind me would take a shot of my butt!
@sabrinaromahn hahah cool shot.
@38mm ba ha haaaaa... the things photogs do for a shot!
