Choosing the finalists for the album cover challenge this week has proven to be a challenge in itself! With only 8 entries (with 2 from one photographer) I decided to limit the finalists to four. I was looking for "believability" (would I look for it on line or in a store if it really was an album? - regardless of "genre"), "cohesiveness" (did the photo fit the album title or artist?) and how well the editing was done or how good the composition was if the shot was unedited. I realize this can be a highly subjective process. Each entry had its own strengths so that did not make my selecting any easier. But in the end (and after a tie-breaker talked through with my better half and second artistic opinion giver) these are the four finalists I have chosen listed by album title. Congratulations to all of you and now your peers will decide the rest!
1. Dictated But Not Signed
2. That Mattered to Me
3. The Limits of the World
4. Somebody Else's Outside
Voting will begin at the posting of this list and close at midnight EST on Monday, August 15th. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 after I tally up all the votes.
Congratulations Sarah, Kali, Caroline, and Lisa! Your fantastic album covers have earned a spot in the vote-off. I was really impressed with your entries and wish you all the creative best!
@johnhaven Sorry John- the voting ended a while ago, but I'm sure the next one is about to begin. Keep your eyes posted on the discussion threads. It will turn up there. Thanks for participating!
