Tekapo Canal by dkbarnett

Tekapo Canal

This canal was made in the 1970s as part of a major hydro electric scheme. It takes water from Tekapo to Pukaki.
Cool photo. I love the angle you have t taken - it looks as though it is disappearing.

I've never seen the canals in winter. Looks a completely different colour to their usual turquoise

I like the colour tones you have in this image. Great reflections in the water too.

@thrumylenz It is so straight the lines seem to almost come together!
@yorkshirekiwi True - I think it was because of the mist, snow and clouds around.
@littleconnie Thanks Connie
@islambad Thanks so much
@moonmtn Sometimes the hydro electric dams and canals can be quite beautiful. A change is always difficult thought, and I think it would be hard to get any scheme approved today.
@dawnee @777margo Thanks so much for commenting :-)
@mv_wolfie Thanks so much Mariana - that is a lovely comment.
