I went out with a local photographer who has been commissioned to make a book cataloguing our car collection. He has great contacts and was able to get inside this wonderful old building to use as a backdrop for taking photos of this old buick. I asked the guy there how the fertiliser gets into the building and there is a conveyer belt running along the apex of the roof. When a ship comes in this building can be full of fertiliser.
I really, really love this - it has such atmosphere - and the wonderful car is simply the star of the show. You must have a fantastic collection to have a book commissioned to catalogue them - do you have info on the history of some of them? Private collections are often so important for preserving local history - and so much fun to accumulate!! Cheers :)
@vignouse Thanks Richard some of them are pretty cool - others are just fun! @robz Thanks Rob - I did love the atmosphere of the old building. Yes we do know quite a bit of history about most of them. It is my husbands passion rather than mine, but I guess you kind of like it by default. @lynnz Thanks Lynn - it was a real buzz to shoot there. Not somewhere most people can get to go. I was really lucky.
@moonmtn@littleconnie I agree - was so lucky to get in there. @graemestevens Not sure if you will get this comment, seeing as you have left us :-( but yes, it is because the photographer who is doing the car photos knows the managing director. @islambad His name is Rob Tucker - I'm sure you will be able to google him. @jamibann Thank you Issi that is amazing :-) @gardenfolk@fbailey@hermann@777margo@jesperani@johnsutton@gq@gamelee@kiwichick
Thanks so much for commenting, I was so lucky to be able to get in there, I think anything would look great with such an incredible backdrop - but yes the car is pretty cool too :-)
@islambad He has a page called Tucker Media and there are a few of the cars in there. A little A40, a mustang, a couple of kiddie cars and a few others.
