Royal Albatross Chick by dkbarnett

Royal Albatross Chick

We went to the Northern Royal Albatross colony at Taiaroa Head. These albatross's are the world's largest sea bird with a massive three metre wing span and the colony is the only mainland colony in the world. This chick is in front of the Taiaroa Head Lighthouse. Once this chick fledges and flies away, it will then spend the next five years without touching land.
Super capture.
We are partnered once again this week in the Get Pushed challenge. How about trying a close up or macro capture? You don’t need a macro lens to get up close and personal. You have free choice of what subject you want to capture - it does not have to be nature.
