Cannon Beach, Winter Afternoon by granagringa

Cannon Beach, Winter Afternoon

Hard to believe that a day later there was a King Tide and that just down shore from this a father and his two children were swept off the beach by a "sneaker" wave; the father survived but the children did not.
That is a very sad and sobering tale. I can not begin to imagine how the father will feel. Your image presents a different interpretation with that information. Great lighting and clouds.

Nature looms and the unwary suffer. Such a sad narrative to go with a wonderful landscape

How very sad that something like that happened - and in such a beautiful, calm looking area.
