White Petals with Red

It's dry and warm in the small green house/hot house at the park and I have no idea what these small flowers are. Such a nice place to go when the weather is damp and there's a chill in the air.
Lovely photo, looks as if it may be a type of begonia

I love this shot - the DOF and lighting are magic. I'm sorry I haven't answered your comment about "our camera" - we're having a bit of a stressful time at the moment. How good are these little cameras though - they have so many combinations of things to try. Did you use the spot metering to get that great combination? :)

@robz Hi...I usually do shoot with spot metering, but when I just looked at the camera, it is set now on evaluative...so this might have been shot using that and then added in contrast in post. I'm amazed at how much I don't know about this camera! Started looking more closely after you mentioned "neutral" and realizing I was in tracking AF mode when trying to do a macro!

Tracking AF mode? Another new little trick - I'll have to get the manual out again! I think you might have to set it into Spot metering each time you want to use it. You are so right about it having lots of options - but it seems too easy to just use the ones you know, hence the "try everything" project...... LOL
I'll try to remember to tag each new thing and maybe we can swap any good things we find? Should be interesting. Cheers Rob
