A sequel to the poor dead hedgehog yesterday. This little fellow was walking around the drive & garden today with it's face bitten just like yesterdays victim.
We know definitely that it is not Tui thank goodies but Harry was wondering if it's squirrels. The grey squirrel is a vicious little thing & we have a lot round here pinching stuff of the bird tables.
Not so badly injured & we are keeping an eye out for it. A bit of a worry though & it's upsetting to see them !!
Poor thing. Glad it's not Tui. Our gray squirrels only interact with other squirrels. How big is a hedgehog such as this - it is hard to tell the size?
Bless him - not ready for the RSPCA rescue yet then? They are supposed to do well on dog food. We have one that comes in the garden occasionally and confuses Monty - would a fox do it?
PS I resisted the temptation to photograph a dead duck today. I was tempted because of the title opportunity (this is how bad I've got) but it was a sad specimen - hit by a car I think.
New job for you..hedgehog warden!! quite upsetting as we never see hedgehogs here any more.............lovely against the shingle keep up the good work!!
@lesleyallen@judithg This one curled itself up when we went up to it so a bit of a mystery how their faces have been getting damage. We also wondered about a fox too Judith.
Oh, this poor little guy just breaks my heart to know that he is hurt and injured...but having read a previous post that he has been taken to the clinic I hope that he is on his way to healing up nicely. So good of you to take him in for care, Pat!!
