Flood line

Just showing you the height of the water line at St Michaels during the recent floods. The traffic was quiet so I risked taking a picture.

Just round this corner there is a dairy farm & Joy was on TV last night showing us the damage in the house. They lost a lot of sheep & their cows had to be farmed out. A little further on there is a row of bungalows all with skips outside full of wet carpets, floor boards etc.
As you can see a glorious day today but there is lots of heavy rain & wind forecast for the next three days so a red alert out for our area over Christmas.

You can still se the water lying in the fields through the hedge on the left.

We are in no danger of flooding but it's hard to see people you know going through such misery.

Si devastating for those poor farmers. Lets hope the next lot is no where near as bad.

A terrible time, especially in the winter, trying to sort sodden homes.

So you know these people round the corner - Joy! What a misery and at this time in the year especially! I think Father Christmas is going to come by boat!

@maggiemae Yes I know Joy through Great Eccleston Show, she is in the next marquee to the Horticultral marquee. Plus of course they are dairy farmers & most dairy farmers know each other. They are living upstairs at the moment.

Poor farmer who lost his sheep. Flooding is such an awful thing to have happen - and right before Christmas too. Terrible!
