Edo Mura by jyokota

Edo Mura

This recreated village from the Edo period allows visitors to catch glimpses and get a sense of what life was like in the 1600s to 1800s Japan. What you see in the foreground are fabric Teruterubouzu to ward off rain. They are traditionally all white. In the background, you see a store merchant.

see @vankrey's artistic interpretation of the same merchant at http://365project.org/vankrey/365/2013-06-21
Wow, I admire your photo and the story behind it.

Oh, such a beautiful capture. I am fascinated with the Teru Teru Bouzu, and did my research on line, and learned how to make them, and learned the song :) Thank you. FAV.

Sounds like a neat place to visit. Do they have people as reenactors to?

I would love to make something like that to have outdoors in the garden we are working on! That, and a bottle tree. Lovely capture--dof is great!

Great DOF in this image. It just invites us right into the shot.
