In a continuing series of disasters on this trip, my camera is also now smashed. This is one of the last photos taken where I still had some degree of control over settings, etc. My latest effort at continuing the project given limited capacity of no computer and a smashed iPad means learning to play with software on the iPhone. Impressionistic Painting effect in iPhoto.
Ah yes, I can see the similarity in our shots. You get about don't you!! I used to travel as much as you but has some awful flight experiences and nowadays try to travel as little as possible.
@seanoneill -- 2013 was an extraordinary year of travel for me, as I took ultra-early "retirement" from my university. Flight hassles are no fun, but if I can manage some time to enjoy the destination, and not just fly in/out to give a speech, then I find it worthwhile. @vankrey and I are about to announce a "photographer's trip to Japan." Maybe you will want to join us!
@jyokota That would sound great, a real life treat to shoot in Michael Kenna's footsteps in Hokkaido or Biwu maybe. Or the madness of Tokyo. two kids at private school preclude me from such expensive ventures sadly!!! I will take vicarious pleasure in seeing what you both manage to shoot.
