Rows of little homes

where some have had the thatched rooves replaced. I should imagine it is much cheaper.
They are still very pretty - so much nicer than our terraced houses in England

Such lovely light.

Lovely shot and light. Pity they didn't stick to thatched roofs but these cost less and do not need the same amount of caring.

Thatched roofs are so charming. Is it hard to find people to do them?

Nice capture.

Lovely light and shadows. I imagine that the maintenance would be much easier and cheaper with a metal roof.

Looks like a nice place to live

So pretty. I believe thatch needs to be replaced about every 10-15 years, so I am sure it is cheaper to just opt for a different type of roofing material.

Sweet little houses.

Sad, as the thatching is so distinctive, but yes, I imagine costly and difficult to maintain. Nice shot!

It does seem like a practical decision. The front view is still beautiful though.

Nice looking building.

@mccarth1 There are so many companies that do thatch Kerry, it is awfully expensive even as it grows in abundance here. Some rich people have thatch on their newly built homes.
