Not happy..

I got so mad seeing this! This girl was smoothing it with this man - 'like' this...." I was like" and completely ignoring this dear wee mite - a Chihuahua but still a dog. He was probably thirsty hungry and was unable to be free strapped to her chest. He tried to yap but was checked with her hand. An ornament and nothing else. Grrrrr!
Awww...poor baby! I have a 5lb schnauzer but she is loved and spoiled. She has a roomy carrier.

I should think conversing with your dinner companion should take precedent over a dog, especially if the dog is being comfortably cuddled.

I'm surprised to see that the dog was allowed in in the first place

I agree with @allie912 a dog should be on the floor, I think it's having too much attention maggie! I agree though just an ornament, not a proper dogs life at all.

I get mixed emotions on this. My dogs were family to me, but I never took them in restaurants or grocery stores because I've worked with kids who have a real fear of dogs, and I have a cousin with allergies. So I hate seeing any, non service dogs in places people should be able to go to free of the fear of bad tempered pets and owners, but I also love dogs, like the idea of cafes that are openly pet friendly if that is posted as part of their appeal, and I hate the idea of pets as wearable fashion.

@pandorasecho I'm with you on some issues but do think that a dogs demands should be recognised for it's ultimate content. It might be cuddled @happypat but it's in unknown territory! I would murmur and stroke but she treated it as a nusiancešŸ¤£

Interesting photo and comments. I really don't agree with dogs being taken in restaurants, unless of course, it is a guide dog and this pup isn't a guide dog. Can't help feeling that it is a child substitute dog. Why on earth would you carry your dog around like a baby, surely it has got legs. She will be giving it a dummy next.

@allie912 In some ways I totally agree with you - in this case, the lady is just picking up this man!

@grammyn I'm surprised at so many places that a dog is allowed ! But Ihave to admit they are reasonable trained to behave! No barking, no jumping up, no growling! Heavens - NZ would not be accepted!

I really dislike it when these little dogs are treated like a fashion accessory. As you well know I love dogs but one needs them to be just that - dogs! So many of these 'fashion dogs' barely know how to behave like a dog and only get the chance to walk when at home.

Controversial topic! I don't have children so my two tiny dogs are my little family. I don't have any problem with a clean well behaved dog being in a restaurant. I totally agree with you, He shouldn't be strapped to her, he is a dog....and I don't like the idea of her being all over the guy when the dog might be thirsty or hungry. It's a funny topic, we all have so many views.
