From our little town of Oamaru. Mostly these mountains are hidden by either cloud or bad visibility!
But as I walked home I thought I could capture this - no tripod so I lock my camera against a power pole and probably look a fool! I don't care.
These are the Kakanui mountains and go up to 1,643 m (5,392 ft).
This is beautiful with that stormy sky yet the snow covered mountains are so clear. The leading line towards the snowy mountains is very cool and that pop of colour sets it off well. Never worry what others think of the stance you have to take to get the shot. Fav.
@inthecloud5 Its cold here at the moment Christine - I remember the hot, hot temps of the desert like places we have just come from and it is different world!
How Beautiful! So glad you locked your camera against the power pole for this shot. Especially glad that you don't care what you look like when you're taking such a gorgeous photo. Well done
@vignouse Yes, Richard - there was one on the other side too but I could crop that one out. I could have cloned but find its not easy with cars and pavements!
You have to look carefully at the snow covered mountatins, lest they merge into the white clouds in the sky. You are obviously near some very beautiful scenery.
