Today was our final class of Shutterbugs. I'll still see the students one more time at our gallery show, but I miss them already! They were inspirational, full of personality, fun and it was great to watch their skills develop. To think that at some point in their young lives they faced (or were still facing) cancer, made their pictures even more poignant. While our class was not meant to be therapeutic and more in the line of "just having fun", it was obvious that Shutterbugs helped them in their journey. I'm looking forward to seeing their pictures hanging in the Cigar Factory Gallery on June 6th (picture to follow) but the real life pictures of their faces will hang in my heart gallery forever.
Thank you Ann, Kate, Joan, Mz, Annie, Julia, Phoebe, Kerri, Sally, Joyce, Debs, Brian, Leana, Francoise, Nicole, and Pyrrhula!
@francoise Good spot- the color was somewhat altered when I was getting the bricks to the color I wanted. I sort of liked it, so I left it rather than masking it back to the original.
@kt8ird Thanks Kate! Keep trying. I took about 10 shots of the building from this angle. Some with more, some with less. In the end I had to straighten this one a little but it had just the right amount of brick and sky. It takes time to develop an eye for these shots- but you've got it, so keep at it until you get one!
Beautiful capture of the building! Sounds like you had a wonderful time with the shutterbugs. I hope their exhibition goes well too - can't wait to see pics!
@alia_801 Thanks Alia! Me too. We send in a contact sheet to the national headquarters and the kids pick out their favorites, but we never know until the show what the headquarters will pick. Should be interesting!
