Ever since I was a little girl I have loved marbles and I have a collection of them now which I keep in a glass jar. I just love the bright colours of them all.
But there is method in my madness as the title suggests. One day when my daughter says 'I think Mum has lost her marbles' I can say 'No I haven't they are over there in the jar'!!! You have to be prepared for these things don't you!
great minds think alike! I'm collecting marbles for exactly the same reason (you must have read my mind!) only problem is mine are nowhere near as pretty. So where do you find these beautiful ones? Great shot! by the way! a fav for me!
Love this shot and the reason behind it Babs. I've been looking at each one individually, they are so brilliant, my favourite is the blue one on the right with the brown stripes, for some odd reason reminds me of Saturn, but then the bright green top right is gorgeous too, must come around a go through them all! Nothing wrong with me, he he!
its been a very long time since I played with marbles!! They take me back to primary school and playing in the dirt. I must be a jar for myself just in case my husband uses that phrase!!
That's brilliant, I'm going to start my own collection without delay!! They are so beautiful individually and a lovely riot of colour together - I particularly love the silvery blue ones!
@angelat Great minds indeed. Let's hope we keep them!!! Thanks for the fav. I buy them all over the place, kmart, Big W, Toys r us, newsagencies, toy shops, markets etc. I've got two big glass jars of them so I have been collecting a while.
@paulaw I think I have started quite a trend Paula. Everybody should collect marbles I reckon, they are beautiful. Make a lovely ornament too either in a jar, glass vase, or bowl.
@gamelee If your eyes kept going from one marble to another with the ones in the photo Lee, good job you don't come to my house I have got loads of them, you'd go cross eyed. They are great fun.
looks like you've started something here Babs, or at least unearthed some secret collections! I'm starting to feel quite normal! and I'll have to increase my collection!
